North with gritty performance at second-ranked Carmel

September 13, 2025 - The 18th-ranked Columbus North boys soccer team traveled to second-ranked Carmel on Friday night and came home with a 1-1 draw, their fourth draw of the season. The Greyhounds got on the scoreboard first with an 18th-minute goal, which was answered 16 minutes later by a Manual Valle (shown) goal (assisted by Jonah Sipes) to square the match 1-1 heading into halftime. Carmel outshot the Bull Dogs 23-4 and held a 4-2 advantage in shots on frame. Goalkeeper Nicolas De Linan Palacios recorded three saves in 80 minutes as the Dogs moved to 3-2-4 for the season. North dropped the JV match 1-1 as the JV team fell to 4-4 for the season. Next up for the Bull Dogs will be a trip to Lawrence North on Thursday, September 18. JV is set to begin at 6:00 pm with varsity to follow.
