August 17, 2025 - The 13th ranked Columbus North boys soccer team showed early in the season that they are committed to play a difficult regular season schedule to prepare them for a post-season tournament run. The Dogs opened on the road at eighth-ranked Noblesville and fell to the Millers 2-1. Noblesville scored in the tenth minute and took a 1-0 lead into halftime. The Millers stretched the lead to 2-0 in the 60th minute and the match was delayed soon thereafter by lightning. After a 70-minute delay, the teams retook the field and the Bull Dogs got on the scoreboard. Mathiang Kak scored off of a free kick by Johnny Renteria in the 78th minute, but were unable to find the net again, dropping to 0-1 for the season. The Miller outshot the Bull Dogs 16-9, including a 5-1 advantage in shots on frame. Junior Bull Dog goalkeeper Nicolas De Linan Palacios was credited with three saves in 80 minutes. The JV fell 3-0 in the second match to also start their season 0-1. North will be back home on Thursday, August 21 when they host Bloomington North. JV is scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm, with varsity to follow. Photo: Nicolas De Linan Palacios earned three saves in 80 minutes in goal as the Bull Dogs fell to eighth-ranked Noblesville.
