April 27, 2025 - Head softball coach TJ Jarvis would like to have one inning back from their weekend outing at Center Grove. The Bull Dogs gave up ten runs to Center Grove in the bottom of the first inning before settling down and playing much better softball the rest of the tournament. Defensive errors continue to haunt the Dogs, allowing a number of unearned runs once again this weekend. The Bull Dogs lost 16-5 to Center Grove in game one and were plagued by five defensive errors which led to ten unearned runs by the Trojans. Bailee Scruggs had three of the Bull Dogs’ six hits against Center Grove, with Miley McClellan adding two and Payton Morris tallying a hit for North. Four more errors in game two against Bedford North Lawrence led to three unearned runs at the Dogs fell 8-6. Scruggs went the distance in the pitcher’s circle for the Bull Dogs and struck out eight. Morris and Avery Sheehan each had two hits in the loss, which dropped the Bull Dogs to 5-6 for the season. North will host Floyd Central in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday, April 30. Varsity will begin at 6:00 with JV to follow. Photo: Bailee Scruggs prepares to rip a fastball past a Trojan batter on Saturday at the Russ Milligan Classic.
