Late run secures Bull Dog softball victory

April 18, 2025 - Columbus North scored a run in the top of the seventh inning to break a 3-3 tie and they held on for a 4-3 victory at 5-1 Edgewood on Thursday evening. Edgewood took the JV game 12-9. Morgan Jarvis (shown) was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and scored twice for the Bull Dogs (3-4). Avery Sheehan and Ali Wooten had the other two hits for the Dogs. Bailee Scruggs went the distance for the Dogs, giving up only four hits and no earned runs as the Dogs committed a pair of defensive errors. 81 of Scruggs’ 113 pitches were strikes as she struck out eight for the night. The Bull Dogs will host a doubleheader with Carmel on Saturday. The first game is scheduled to begin at 10:00 am.
