October 8, 2026 - Columbus North boys tennis’ quest for a ninth consecutive regional title (and 32nd overall) came to an end with a 3-2 loss to Seymour (21-2) at Bedford North Lawrence Wednesday evening in the regional finals. The 3-2 loss to the Owls repeated an August 18th result in the regular season. Andrew Huang lost his number two singles match 0-6, 2-6, giving the Owls a 1-0 lead in the team score. The Dogs evened the score with a 6-2, 6-1 victory by Logan Morales and Max Wei at two doubles. North fell behind again with a 3-6, 0-6 loss by Vyom Desai at three singles. Alek Devidze’s 6-1, 6-1 victory at one singles tied the match, setting up the one doubles match to decide the outcome. Unfortunately for the Bull Dogs, Cale Fitzsimmons and Luca Devidze fell 2-6, 3-6 and the Bull Dogs’ season was over. Alek Devidze will continue in the individual tournament due to remaining undefeated throughout post season play. Desai is the Bull Dogs’ only senior in the post season lineup as the Dogs (11-9) look to grow from this loss and bounce back next season. The program bids farewell to the other seniors on the roster: Ricardo Prata, Vihaan Garg, Krishna Hosamani, Chandan Munnaluri, Alex Zang, Brian Wei, and Richard Sun.
