September 11, 2026 - Class 1A second ranked visited Class 3A 13th ranked Columbus North on Thursday, September 10 and the Bull Dogs shut out the Twisters 4-0 to improve to 8-1-1 for the season. Avery Baker gave the Dogs a 1-0 lead off of an assist from Grace Merritt in the tenth minute as the Dogs took a 1-0 lead into the halftime break. North’s depth and pace of play allowed them to dominate the second half, putting three goals on the board in the second stanza. Baker scored her second goal in the 45th minute, as Aliyah Young was credited with the assist. Evelin Lopez took a pass from Rachel Fulp in the 46th minute and scored to increase the Dogs’ lead to 3-0. Riley Sims scored the final goal with less than four minutes to play off of an Adi Butcher assist to provide the final score. Twelve Bull Dog seniors were recognized prior to the match as part of Senior Night, including Avery Baker, Alex Sawin, Adi Butcher, Evelin Lopez, IreLynn McAlister, Riley Sims, Grace Merritt, Rachel Fulp, Lily Ryan, Emerson Chambers, Aliyah Young, and Danika Hoehn. Oldenburg does not have a JV team, so the varsity match was the lone event Thursday evening. The Bull Dogs will visit Greenfield Central Saturday morning, with the JV scheduled to kick off at 10:30 am.
