August 25, 2026 - Head Coach David Young earned his 100th career coaching victory with a 7-1 victory over Franklin Community on Monday evening. It was fitting that Young faced the Grizzly Cubs for this milestone as the first eleven of his 100 victories came while head coach at Franklin Community. Young is now 100-47-15 for his career as a head coach. Avery Baker scored the first two goals of the match in the first eight minutes, and Grace Bethuram carved one in off of a corner kick to make it 3-0 Dogs less than ten minutes into the match. Evelin Lopez scored the first of her two goals at the 14 minute mark, and Ella Bethuram recorded her first varsity goal in the 18th minute to make it 5-0 North. Riley Sims scored in the 27th minute, followed by Lopez’s second goal with just two seconds left in the first half to give the Bull Dogs a 7-0 halftime lead. The Grizzly Cubs were able to get on the board in the second half with a penalty kick coming from a hand ball in the box to make the final score 7-1 and improve the Bull Dogs to 3-0 for the season. In addition to the goals listed above, the Dogs got assists from G. Bethuram, Riley Sims, Baker, Rachel Fulp, and Adi Butcher. Franklin Community’s limited roster size forced the JV match to be shortened to just one half, but the Bull Dogs made the most of that half. The Dogs put seven goals on the board in one half of play to improve to 3-0 for the season. The Bull Dogs will host cross-town rival Columbus East on Wednesday, August 26 as part of Rivalry Week. The JV match will begin at 5:30, with the varsity to follow around 7:00.
