August 22, 2026 - Bull Dog boys soccer played a pair of matches at Center Grove to kick off their season, winning their first against the host school 2-1 on Friday evening, and playing to a 0-0 draw in their second match on Saturday against William H. Harrison High School. In Friday’s match with Center Grove, the Dogs scored once in each half, with Mathiang Kak netting an assist from Brody Johnson just five minutes into the match. Parker Gribbins used an Angel Espejel assist to net a second half goal in the 49th minute. Center Grove punched in their only goal in the 73rd minute, but it was not enough to catch the Dogs. Michael Larson kept goal all 80 minutes and recorded a save as the Dogs out-shot the Trojans 7-3, including a 5-2 advantage in shots-on-frame. In the Saturday match against William H Harrison, the Bull Dogs recorded six shots to Harrison’s four and held a 5-3 advantage in shots-on-goal, but were unable to find the back of the net. Michael Larson and Jaden Andrade each kept goal for one half with Larson recording one save and Andrade tallying a pair of saves. The JV team fell to Center Grove 2-0 on Friday and did not play Saturday. The Bull Dogs (1-0-1) will travel to New Albany on Tuesday, August 25. JV is scheduled to begin at 5:30 with varsity to follow.
