June 16, 2026 - Assistant boys basketball coach Dalton Judd has been named the interim boys basketball coach for the 2026-27 season. Judd, along with other members of the boys basketball staff, has been overseeing the day-to-day operations of the boys basketball program since the resignation of head coach Paul Ferguson at the end of the school year. Ferguson resigned to accept a similar position at Wheaton Academy in the Chicago area. Judd has been a varsity assistant coach on Ferguson’s staff since 2023 and looks to continue the success of the boys program at Columbus North, which includes a 2025-26 sectional title. “I have great confidence coming in after a year where we probably over-achieved and made a run at a regional title. We’ve got great talent and leadership coming back next year, and we’re in a great position to continue the strong success,” according to Coach Judd. Judd graduated from Zionsville High School in 2013 and attended Indiana University, where he majored in business management. He splits time as a teacher at Columbus North between the business and physical education departments. Judd has coaching experience at Marian University from 2018-2023 in addition to the AAU circuit. Athletic director Brian Lewis expressed optimism about Judd’s new role on the staff. “We know that Dalton will bring a different type of excitement to our program in his new role. Our players will respect and play hard for him.” “Coach Ferguson has built success and a fantastic culture within the boys basketball program at North. We are looking forward to continuing his legacy and achieving great things in the Bull Dog program,” Dalton said. Columbus North is excited to keep Coach Judd in the Bull Dog family and wish him the best of luck in his new role.
