June 6, 2026 - The Bull Dogs’ girls track team sent ten events to the IHSAA Girls State Track and Field meet at North Central High School on Friday, June 5 and earned podium finishes in three of those. The Dogs finished 35th as a team as Carmel won the team title with 49.5 points. Emerson Chambers and Lily Miller filled two of those top-eight podium positions as Chambers was sixth (14.86) and Miller eighth (14.76) in the 100m hurdles. Emma Haston finished eighth in the high jump, clearing a height of 5’5” to earn a spot on the podium. Miller, who qualified in four events, was also eleventh in the 300m hurdles (45.26). Gabby Revell threw the discus 122’3” to earn 18th, and Sydni Schiefer was 27th in the shot put with a toss of 35’1.25”. Miley McClellan, in her first year running track and field, finished 26th in the 400m in 1:00.30, and Adira Sluder was 30th in the 3200m in 11:47.25. The Dogs also had three relays compete at the State meet, including a 23rd place finish by Avery Johnson, Miller, Lexi Denny, and Chambers in the 4x100m relay (49.09), a 24th place finish by Natalie Rohm, Miller, McClellan, and Reece Peeples in the 4x400m relay (4:05.23), and a 28th place finish in the 4x800m relay (9:47.91) by the quartet of Tristan Works, Peeples, Emma Lowther, and Hazel Sasse. The boys will compete in their state meet this afternoon at North Central High School. Field events are scheduled to begin at 3:00.
