May 28, 2026 - On April 13, Whiteland scored a run in the bottom of the tenth inning, handing Columbus North a disappointing loss on the road. Wednesday the Bull Dogs got their revenge with a 2-1 victory over the Warriors in the sectional semifinals, securing them a berth in tonight’s sectional championship game against Franklin Community. The Bull Dogs managed only three hits for the game, but they made them count. Morgan Jarvis had a single and scored a run. Lyla Deweese had a double, scored, and had an RBI, and Payton Morris had a triple and an RBI to lead the offense. Bailee Scruggs got the pitching start and tossed a dandy. She allowed just one run on four hits with one walk and five strikeouts. North (10-14) will face Franklin (17-11) for the sectional championship this evening at 6:00 pm. Franklin Community advanced after a 13-3 victory over East Central in the other semifinal matchup Wednesday evening.
