Justin Lopez had 14 kills in a 3-1 victory over Columbus East on Friday, May 1, and then had 21 assists in two matches Saturday as the Bull Dogs finished as Conference Indiana runners-up.

May 4, 2026 - Columbus North boys volleyball enjoyed a successful weekend, beating Columbus East 3-1 in Memorial Gymnasium and then finishing second in the Conference Indiana boys volleyball championships at Terre Haute on Saturday. On Friday, the Dogs won the first two sets against the Olympians 25-19 and 25-18 before dropping the third set 21-25. The Bull Dogs got refocused and won the fourth set 25-22 to seal the victory. Ramu Alagappan topped the Dogs in assists, with 47. Justin Lopez and Jake Roeder each tallied 14 kills, Ethan Santo-Villasenor recorded nine digs, and Noah Dornfeld led the Bull Dogs with six blocks. At Saturday’s Conference Indiana tournament, Columbus North topped Bloomington North in the semifinal match 2-1 (20-25, 25-22, 15-10) and fell to Southport in the conference championship match 2-0 (21-25, 10-25). Lopez had 21 kills for the day to lead that category for North. Alagappan tallied 40 assists, Aniket Ghatge had four service aces, Santo-Villasenor had five digs, and Anyu Gong recorded seven blocks to lead the Dogs. The Bull Dogs (12-13) will host Bloomington South on Tuesday evening at 6:00 (JV) and 7:30 (varsity).
