April 26, 2026 - Center Grove High School hosted the annual Russ Milligan Classic on Saturday, and the Bull Dogs softball team dropped both games, 9-4 to Center Grove, and 7-0 to Franklin Central. In game one against the Trojans, Morgan Jarvis had two hits as the Dogs fell behind 6-0 after two innings before a third inning rally cut the deficit to 6-4. The Trojans scored three in the bottom of the sixth to seal the victory. Payton Morris and Bailee Scruggs shared the pitching duties, allowing nine runs on 15 hits, while walking two and striking out two. In game two, nothing seemed to go right for the Dogs, as they mustered only three hits for the game (two by Jarvis). Scruggs tossed the entire game, allowing seven runs (six earned) on ten hits, while striking out six. The Bull Dogs (7-8) will travel to Floyd Central for a varsity-JV doubleheader on Wednesday, April 29. First pitch of the varsity game is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
