April 7, 2026 - Columbus North baseball managed six hits against a very good Roncalli team, all six hits were doubles, leading the Dogs to a 5-4 victory over the Royals on Monday evening at Southside. Senior Sam Perry’s two-out, bases-loaded double in the bottom of the fifth inning erased a 4-2 Bull Dog deficit, giving North a 5-4 lead that would hold for the final two innings. Jack Whaley had three doubles, and Brock Kintner and Daiju Iwaya each added doubles in the victory. Perry had four of the five RBI for North, including a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second inning that scored Jesse Clark. Whaley, Cole Stevens, Cade Finke, and Iwaya scored the other runs for North. North got its best pitching performance of the season on Monday night, with Jayden Adorno getting the start and lasting four innings. He allowed four runs (three earned) on four hits, while walking one and striking out six. Dillon Long came in to begin the fifth inning and tossed the final three innings, allowing no runs on no hits with no walks and striking out three. The four hits allowed is a season best for the Bull Dogs. The Dogs will be back on the diamond this evening when they host a JV and varsity contest against East Central. First pitch for both games is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
