March 7, 2026 - Austin Perry had 20 points and Caleb Ferguson added 19 in a 54-41 sectional championship victory over Whiteland in Memorial Gymnasium on Saturday evening. The Dogs jumped out to an early 9-0 lead to start the game and increased it to 25-12 at halftime before playing very deliberate, half court basketball to maintain a double digit lead most of the remainder of the game. North’s stiff defense and patient offense seemed to fluster the Warriors throughout. This was the Dogs’ second victory over Whiteland (19-6) this season, after a 57-53 victory on January 31. North ranks 13th on IHSAA’s all-time list for sectional titles with 52 (including their victories as Columbus High School), but this was only the third since class basketball began in Indiana. The Dogs won the Class 4A sectional titles in 2013 and 2023 in addition to their 2026 championship.
