Columbus North celebrates its 23rd sectional gymnastics title and will compete in the regional meet on Friday, March 6

February 28, 2026 - The Columbus North gymnasts got off to a solid start at the Franklin Central Sectional on Friday night, recording a team score of 27.025 on the floor exercise. However, stumbles on both vault (25.7) and uneven bars (24.375) put the Dogs in a hole in their quest for their 23rd sectional gymnastics title. The Dogs rallied with three scores over 9.0 and no falls on the balance beam to jump Roncalli and Noblesville for the sectional title. The Dogs’ team score of 27.65 on the beam gave them a meet total of 104.750, edging the Millers (104.0) and the Royals (103.575), and earning them another trip to next weekend’s regional meet. Sophomore Hayden Harper won the balance beam (9.4), tied for third on the uneven bars and floor exercise, and claimed third in the all-around. Senior Ellie McIntier was second on the balance beam and was fifth in the all-around. Senior Hannah Perry tied for third on the floor exercise and tied for fourth on the balance beam, finishing ninth in the all-around. North seeks its 23rd regional title and will need to finish in the top three at regionals to earn a berth in the State Finals on March 14.
