December 5, 2025 - After seven matches at perennial wrestling powerhouse Perry Meridian on Thursday evening, the Bull Dogs found themselves in a 36-4 deficit and things looked bleak. The Dogs, however, rallied to win the last seven matches, three by fall, to slip away with a 37-36 victory, the first victory over the Falcons in program history. Cohen Long got the rally started with a tech fall at 150, and James Scruggs battled to a 1-0 decision at 157. Asher Ratliff earned a first-period fall in his 165 pound match, followed by a major decision by Eric Streeval at 175. Darrell Hicks (190) and Dylan Canas (215) each won by fall, setting the stage for Servando Lozano’s 285 pound match. Lozano won 1-0 and gave the Dogs a one-point team victory. Four JV wrestlers also recorded victories in the early matches, including Hudson Harman (126), Michael Reed (132), Jared Hernandez-Jimenez (157), and Nate Riker (165). The Bull Dogs will be back on the mat on Saturday, December 6 when the varsity travels to Cathedral and the JV to Milan for tournaments.
