This is “rivalry week” for Columbus North with contests in multiple sports against Columbus East.
The varsity football game is at 7 p.m. Friday (Aug. 25) at Stafford Field. Both teams enter the game with a 1-0 record.
JV and freshman football games are Saturday (Aug. 26) at Max Andress Field. The freshman game begins at 10 a.m. and the JV game follows at noon.
A soccer quadruple-header is set for Saturday (Aug. 26) at Richard Wigh Soccer Complex. The lineup of games includes JV boys at 2 p.m., JV girls at 4 p.m., varsity boys at 6 p.m. and varsity girls at 8 p.m.
Earlier on Tuesday (Aug. 22), the Bull Dogs’ boys tennis team defeated the Olympians 5-0. CN coach Kendal Hammel captured his 700th career victory with that result (361 boys’ wins, 339 girls’ wins).
The Columbus North athletic department is also selling a spirit T-Shirt for $5 each in the athletic office. That T-shirt is modeled by CNHS golfer Julia Luken in the photo above. Advance tickets for the varsity football game, priced at $5 each, also are available this week in the athletic office.
Lastly, there will be Columbus North tailgate dinner at 6 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 24) in front of the flagpole by Door 1 at the school. Meals may be purchased for $5. Tickets for Friday’s game and the spirit T-shirt also will be available at the tailgate dinner.
