Bloomington South defeats Columbus North 1-0 in boys soccer

                BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Junior Alex Fox produced an unassisted goal in the fifth minute Tuesday evening (Sept. 5), leading the Bloomington South boys soccer team to a 1-0 victory in a Conference Indiana contest.

                The Bull Dogs notched four shots on goal, but none was able to find the net as they fell to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in league games.

                Fox’s goal was his 10th of the season for the Panthers, who improved to 9-1 overall and 3-1 in CI play.

                Junior Noah Kestler made seven saves in 79 minutes in goal for CN. Freshman Colvin Iorio played one minute in the nets with no saves.

                Bloomington South also took a 2-0 decision in the JV game. Iorio played the full 70 minutes in goal for the Bull Dogs (2-4-1).

                Columbus North returns to action at 5:30 p.m. Friday (Sept. 8) when it faces McCutcheon in the Great Midwest Classic at North Central. The Bull Dogs play two more games in the event on Saturday (Sept. 9) – at 10:30 a.m. against Oak Park (Ill.) and at 5 p.m. against Downers Grove South (Ill).
