SEYMOUR, Ind. – Junior Danbi Kim fired a school-record 4-under-par 33 and the Columbus North girls golf team posted a school-record 5-under-par as a team Monday (Aug. 28) en route to a 143-194 victory over host Seymour at Shadowood Golf Course.
Kim produced three eagles en route to her CN best-to-par score on the par-37 layout.
Freshman Nathaly Munnicha also sizzled with a 3-under 34, while junior Alexandria Munnicha shot an even-par 37 and senior Molly Donnell completed the top four with a 2-over 39 as the Bull Dogs improved to 6-0 in dual matches.
Senior Julia Luken tallied a 40, while sophomore Annie Anderson carded a 42, sophomore Nicole Duncan had a 46 and freshman Yestika Nischol produced a 48.
Sophomore Laken Waskom led the Owls with a 45.
Kim’s 4-under-par score is program-best for a nine-hole event, bettering the 3-under record that she set earlier this season in a dual match on Aug. 15 against Batesville at Hillcrest Country Club. Nathaly Munnicha’s 3-under effort tied her for the program’s second-best mark to par.
Previously, four players posted a 2-under-par rounds for nine holes – a 2-under 32 by Aubrey Smith last year at Southern Dunes, a 33 on a par-35 by Erinn Sutton at Shadowood Golf Course, a 34 on par-36 by Taylor Gohn at Harrison Lake Country Club and a 34 on a par-36 by Sydney Anderson also at Harrison Lake.
Kim’s 33 was one stroke away from the CN program’s best raw score – Kim shooting a 32 in the match this season at Hillcrest Country Club and Smith’s 32 last year at Southern Dunes.
Columbus North returns to action at 4:30 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 31) when it hosts Southport at Harrison Lake Country Club.
