Columbus North tandem wins doubles sectional in boys tennis; doubles regional up next Saturday for Jackson, Mathew

                BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Seniors Isaac Jackson and Ben Mathew won the doubles individual sectional on Saturday (Oct. 7).

                The tandem posted a 6-3, 6-3 victory over the Bedford North Lawrence duo of Corbin Bushey and Isaac Titche in a match played at Bloomington North.

                Jackson and Mathew improved to 6-0 in the postseason and to 19-7 for the year with the decision. They went 5-0 while competing in the team tournament, and they now are 1-0 in the individual event.

                The victory moves Jackson and Mathew into the doubles individual regional at 10 a.m. next Saturday (Oct. 14) at Bedford North Lawrence.

                There, they will meet Washington senior Kaleb Knepp and freshman Braden Kixmiller (17-4) in a semifinal match. Floyd Central senior Noah Neuhauser and sophomore Alex Poe (20-5) will face Heritage Hills junior Josh Nelson and senior Jacob Luebbehusen (13-4) in the other semifinal. The doubles regional final will be later on Saturday.

                The winner of the regional final qualifies for the doubles state finals on Oct. 13-14 at Park Tudor.
