Columbus North junior David Redding announced Friday (March 25) that he has committed to Western Michigan to play football beginning in 2017.
Redding, a 6-5, 280-pound offensive lineman, helped Columbus North set a school record for 417.7 yards per game on offense during a season where the team went 6-4 overall and finished third in Conference Indiana. Redding also contributed to an effort that saw the team place second in school top-five seasons in scoring (35.0 points per game) and rushing (2,545 yards on the ground).
After the season, Redding was selected Class 6A first-team All-State by The Associated Press, Class 6A Junior All-State by the Indiana Football Coaches Association and first-team all-Conference Indiana.
“Humbled and blessed to announce that I have committed to Western Michigan to further my academic and athletic career,” Redding said in a tweet.
