Borger, Anderson help Columbus North stop Seymour 68-46 in girls basketball

                COLUMBUS, Ind. – Senior Jenna Borger scored 21 points and sophomore Annie Anderson contributed 13 points Tuesday evening (Dec. 12) to lift the Columbus North girls basketball team to a 68-46 victory over Seymour in Memorial Gym.

                Senior Kenzie Patberg and sophomore Sierra Norman each provided eight points for the Bull Dogs, who improved to 7-2. Senior Liz Tynan and junior Nadia Lomax each chipped in six points, and sophomore Tessa Lomax had four points.

                Junior Makenna Fee scored 18 points and senior Maddie Roark had 17 points for the Owls (6-6).

                Tynan scored six points while Borger and Patberg added three points each in the first quarter as Columbus North took a 17-11 lead. Borger scored five points and Anderson four points as the hosts extended their edge to 34-17 at intermission.

                Borger netted seven points, Norman five and Anderson four as CN led 54-31 at the third stop. Borger added six points and Anderson had four in the fourth quarter as the Bull Dogs closed out the decision.

                In the JV game, freshman Hannah Bramlett and sophomore Sierra Norman each scored 12 points to lift Columbus North to a 68-23 victory. Sophomore Kaylyn Bates chipped in 11 points, while freshman Aden Voss tallied nine points for the Bull Dogs (8-1). Freshmen Alexa McKinley and Madison White each netted eight points CN. Chloe Sheperd led Seymour with 10 points.

                There was no freshman game.

                Columbus North returns to action on Thursday (Dec. 14) when it hosts rival Columbus East (7-1) in Memorial Gym. JV and freshman games begin at 6 p.m., and the varsity follows the JV at about 7:30 p.m.
